This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a growing and vibrant team and to lead and develop the Geoenvironmental arm of the business.  You will be joining an experienced and enthusiastic team of staff delivering site investigation specialist services to a wide-ranging client base across the country. With multiple offices across the UK the right candidate can be situated in wither the North West or West Midlands Offices. Sectors including the utilities, industrial and commercial, education new build, highways and rail infrastructure, contaminated land redevelopment, onshore and  offshore energy and environmental.

Key responsibilities

Key activities:

  • Project management of geoenvironmental and combined geotechnical projects,
  • Preparation and review of Phase 1 Desk Study and Phase 2 Reports, Remediation Strategies and Validation,
  • Scoping and planning of geoenvironmental investigations, including liaison with geotechnical staff on combined geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations,
  • Development of the geoenvironmental aspects of the business,
  • Provision of advice and assistance to all offices on geoenvironmental matters,
  • Mentoring and training of junior staff,
  • Liaison with regulators and planning authorities as necessary.

Job requirements

Key Skills:

  • BSc, preferably MSc, in relevant subject,
  • Chartered member of a relevant professional body (e.g. Chartered Geologist),
  • Excellent up-to-date knowledge of the current contaminated land and assessment requirements, including laboratory practice and sampling protocols,
  • Experience in the project management of geoenvironmental projects including the preparation and review of Phase 1 Desk Study and Phase 2 investigations, remediation strategies and validation,
  • Experience in producing data for regulators and planning authorities, including subsequent liaison leading to approval of submissions,
  • Appreciation of geotechnical issues and how they relate to environmental issues,
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines,
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills,
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO 14001:2015.
